I'm throwing myself on mercy of the court declaring that this will never happen again.
The S hasn't been a DD in over 4 years so she's become quite a bit of a garage queen even though I did my best to keep her as close to showroom despite the 5 years of daily beating I put on her plus the infrequent track day. Well as you would expect her mileage per year has dropped quite a bit since retiring to leisure status but 2009 was an embrassment.
Sandy just went to take Chase to a friend's birthday party and he wanted to take the "race car". Of course the battery was dead (again) so I scooted them out the door and proceeded to bring the Ridgeline around to give the S a jump, cranked up the compressor and top of the tires and as I always do, I went to log "air" into the mileage book. Well, that's when I discovered how many, or should I say how few, miles the S was driven in 2009 - ALL YEAR.
2,097!!!!! That's it!!!!
So, I promise to the S-community, that she will be driven far more regularly and I also promise to give her a thorough detailing since she hasn't had a good TLC in a good year at least. Actually I think the last time she had a bath was to put on the decals for last year's HGPSP!!!! Guess what we're getting ready to do again....The HGPSP.
Actually, now that I think about it, I think the last detail was heading to the Super Meet last year which was pretty close to 1 year ago (pic below).
I would not call it neglect Shay, I have had mine 5 years and put 24k miles since. I am looking to preserve the condtion of mine. I do not want someone that should never had gotton a driver license to run into me. Its all about preservation especially since Honda no longer offers new ones to replace those that come to an early demise.
Its all right Shay. I can make jokes that at least yours would actually run during your ownership.
Its hard with a family that when you and everyone go somewhere you take the "other" car.
My wife and I went to the store the other night, just the two of us which is rare. We had fun just running up Central to get a couple of items at the store. It was nice to say the least.
Now my son seems to love my car. He goes outside just to play in the car. Friday I got up to go to work and opened the door to see muddy foot prints in it. I knew he was in the car, watched him play and everything. Must have missed the fact the shoes were dirty.
You are really not the only one who does not get to spend time in the S. I know I will have time to drive when I get back. It just sucks that work is only 5 miles away.
