SCCA Brooksville 2-14-09 One day event on Saturday
West Coast Central Florida Region SCCA presents...
at the Hernando County/Brooksville Airport...
A Valentine's Day autocross! Feb. 14th is a Saturday this year and we are holding a one-day points event!
To register go to: DLB Racing Calendar and look for the February events on the calendar.
For a detailed Google map of the event site with directions, go to: http://maps.google.com/maps?t=h&hl=en&ie=U...=1&source=embed
Registration closes at midnight Friday Feb. 6th. Registration for drivers is now online and prepay only. Everyone entering the site, including guests (non-drivers), must be on the list by midnight this Friday. Contact me, Albert, with the full names of guests who are most likely to attend with you. Drivers will be limited to 55 and guests will be limited to a maximum of 20 per day.
We have been having courses with lap times around 70-80 secs. using portions of the course more than once. If you have not been out, the runway is large and paved with grippy concrete. Also, we will be having many one day event weekends (points day on Saturday with no practice). This way, it is easier for everyone to get points for the season while still attending events with other clubs. Here is a link to the event flyer:

70-80mph is a tiny bit optimistic. The airport has imposed a 60 mph speed limit for all events, and we try not to go too much higher than that. We might get close to 70, but I haven't seen 80 in years.
Also it's bad form to talk about top speeds on the internet. It's easy for people to get panties twisted over these types of things. So if you go to events and people are hitting insane speeds, keep it to yourself and enjoy it while it lasts.
