Default Shop in Jax to install final drive?

I moved to Jacksonville for law school about a month ago and I'm looking for a solid shop that can install a final drive for a good price.

I called Velocity Trends and Stage 6 and they both seemed rather unfriendly and told me they didn't do final drive installs.

Anyone know any other places to check out?

TIA.

theyve always been nice to me at velocity and stage 6 is supposed to be one of the best shops around. i cant imagine that both of them would be rude to you...

i dont even know what a final drive is so i dont know where to tell you. other than honda i only take my car to one other place. its a rinky dink shop in mayport called murrs motors. bunch of older outspoken men that own it. best guys in the world that do the best work at an honest price. took care of me while clint was on deployment. i dont know if theyd do something like that though.

My bad for the confusion.

Final drive = gears (I am pretty sure).

They weren't necessarily "rude" but more along the lines of not caring. I'll just take my car in and see what they say. I'll try Murr Motors as well. Thanks.

I haven't heard much good about Velocity, but I've heard that Stage 6 is really good. The guys at Stage 6 were pretty cool when I went in to talk to them. Did you call them or go in to talk to them in person?

Also what law school are you going to? I moved here this summer to go to FCSL.

Velocity seemed like a good bunch of guys when I went in to look around, but I just haven't heard a whole of of good about their work. I can't speak from personal experience though.

Stage 6 also has one of the best tuners in NE FL...they got the Mase! He's only there part-time right now but point is he's there. Great guys over there. Best of luck.

I talked to them over the phone, so it could have just been a busy day. I'll bring in the car and such and talk to them in person. Thanks for the help everyone.

Velocity Trends are fine...I've had them do a few things and they have always been good to me. I wouldn't have a problem taking my car to either place.

VT losing Mase to Stage6 is big though.

When you say installing gears, do you mean that you have the ring and pinion and need it installed in your diff? Or that you have the diff with gears and need the diff installed? The later is easy...installing the ring & pinion is not and requires someone with experience with gearboxes or diffs to do properly (it is definitely not something you want to have screwed up or the diff won't last long at all).
