I have taken the 3 day school at Sebring ... I really enjoyed it and felt it was worth the $$.
This would also be the closest school to you. They use to hold a school at Moroso (west palm beach); however, I think another school now uses Moroso. I think they use Z06's not open wheel formula cars.

Bieg,
Your comments are very encouraging. I'm planning on going to Lime Rock in the spring for a 1-Day Racing intro with some friends/co-workers/ and I'm sure S2Kers. After that, there will probably be a few of us interested in going back for the 2 or 3 day school.

There are several SB events at Moroso now thru April, 1-2 per month. Justin Bell is the permanent school at Moroso. I've heard nothing but outstanding comments about SB.
Also, if you have time on your weekends, you can be a corner worker for the Skip Barber series races. You don't get paid, but you do earn points towards the school. Two weekends I think is enough for the 1 day school. I think it takes 6 or 8 weekends to get enough points for the 3-day racing school.
Prices are about $1000/day. Daytona is a bit more expensive. I want to go maybe in March. Been Trying to save money for it. They use Vipers and open-wheel Dodge race cars for the racing school, and I think Neon for the driving schools.

Another school some my be interested in is the SCCA schools. It all depends on what you are looking to get out of it. I was looking to my SCCA race license, and SB allows you to apply for that license after completing the 3 day school.
If you take a SCCA school, you must pass 2 schools. The good side to this is a cost savings. The SCCA schools are $250 each; however, you must also rent a car. This can run $1,000 per school, but it could run less - depending who you rent from. You can also take one School at say at Daytona and the other at say Sebring, so you get to learn two tracks. So your looking at $2,500 total ... I'm sure SB is now close to $3,000. Just some thoughts ... I really enjoyed SB, but I also really enjoy everyone I have met and raced with in the SCCA.
If you do decide to get your SCCA license, it will allow you access to all there events ... Solo I , Solo II , Rally, and Regional racing. After you have completed in 4 Regionals, you can move to the National level. You can also hold a National/Pro license ... this would allow you get a pro ride if you wanted.
If anyone in the S. FL area would like to come to any of the events I'll be attending, please let me know and I'll get you on my list. This would be a good way to see everything that the SCCA offers and have a good time watching some good races. On a race weekend, you will have 8 race groups that will contain 2 - 3 separate classes, so you will get a good idea of what is raced.
Enough of my rambling .... thanks for listening.

Skippy is not running at Sebring any longer or at least that is my understanding. Skip is at Daytona, but you must be signed off at another track to run Daytona. I did the 3 day in December and it was worth every cent. Approx cost $2500.

Vincent, SB has four Sebring events listed on the calander through April. A couple with the standard course, and a couple that say "New configuration." Not sure what that is. Most of the classes are listed at $2995. Some are over $3500... Ouch.
