Default Smart Car

I got a chance to drive a smart car today. It belonged to one of my patients. I thought it looked really cool up close. Very roomy inside but also felt very cheap like tupperware. It handled great but the shifts lagged for what seemed like 3-4 seconds between clunky shifts. It wasn't very peppy but I wasn't expecting it to get up and go with a 70hp motorcycle engine in it. It was about as tall as my Element but only half as long. Has anybody else driven one? what did you think?

I'm actually diappointed with the changes that were made to it to bring it into the US. The ones in Canada are available with a diesel that gets around 60-65MPG and I've been passed by them on 95 up in Maine. That little thing was doing about 90.

saw one a cars and coffee

I got to poke around it a little but did not sit in it or drive it (obv).

I would expect it to look and feel plasticy...it did get a 4 star crash rating though......

They are everywhere in Taiwan. Sometimes I just wonder how safe they can be in an accident.

I really would rather have a Yaris or a Fit if I was looking to get an economy car.
