Space Coast Honda
I know most of the time people rail about Honda dealers and there less than stellar service. This time I am glad to post a totally different experience. Here is the short version. I purchased a JDM 01 ECU for my 2005 S. I called Space Coast Honda and asked if they could reprogram the key. They were not sure but told me to bring in the ECU and the car. I was greeted and taken care off by the service manager personally. He asked me to be patient because he only wanted a very experienced tech. to work on the car. After about an hour he called me to his ofice and explained that there was a problem and the computer wasn't talking to the immobilizer or something like that. I explained that someone with an AP2 car had done it. He then asked if I could contact the person for advice on how to do the key programing, which I did. After a short conversation on the phone and a more lengthy one with his tech, it was determined the ecu would not work on my car. It seems that on 05 Honda changed to a rolling code and earlier computers used a fixed code. ( I hope I got all that right) but in any case, if I want to raise the rev limit I need to find another way.
The charge for all of this ------> ZERO and he hope I would use his services again.
Thank you SPACE COAST HONDA

PS. I have an 01 JDM ECU for sale

Rich, too bad man. If you want to come back and get your money I don't mind.
On a side note, I've also had wonderful experiences with Space Coast Honda. Really good guys, not the least bit shady

I actually never had a bad problem with a Honda dealer, but then again I have owned Chrysler products in the past. With that as a benchmark for dealer service, if I got a barium enema from a Honda dealer instead of a tuneup it would still be better than what I have had in the past.
