Obviously there are lots of Japanese Steak houses around but the one we went to last year was near the track (10 minute drive) west and north) Scutr knows the name and location.

I think a place that serves other dishes (beside Sushi) is a must as some people don't like Sushi.

I think the place we went last year was Arigato Japanese Steak House at 3600 66th Street North St Petersburg 33710 It is 8.5 miles form the Track Web Site

I'm still working on getting everyone passes to the RV Thursday night but it's slow going considering the Brazil race is today. I like the RV meet idea since Thursday's are slow around the track but up for anything. If they are you-know-whats about letting us all in that night, which I don't see as a big deal, but if they do the dealership guys can park just outside and I can shuttle you guys in using the Ridgeline like we did years prior for Sunday's Parade Lap.

I'm also working on yellow passes for the "Sweet 16" for Friday and Saturday but that's super slow going and I've already requested them several times but I'm up the plate for one final swing. Things appear super tight this year. I was hoping with ALMS being gone that the yellows would be a little more available but it's just the opposite so far. It's taking a lot of the fun out of it for RoB and myself not that the past couple of months are much fun anyway. It's hard to relax until the last car comes of the track Sunday without a hiccup but we'll play the cards we're dealt and make it as fun as possible in the process.

Now...go enjoy the "holiday" that is March 14th!!!!

It's all good. Not ideal of course but good nonetheless. Every year is different. Things finally were running smooth so it was only a matter of time before a curveball was thrown at us. It's frustrating on one hand because we do have such a long track record with them but again...we're simply volunteers in their eyes so the budget they're willing to spend on us tends to be minimal and on a low rung. We make it work and with the more "private" group we have this year I suspect it will be even more fun than some of the great experiences we've already had in years past.

The family and I will be down sometime that Thursday afternoon in the Ridge so we'll be RV-side ASAP.

I will be down for whatever. regarding thursday night anything after the parade and crown event.

If both groups of cars want to meet for a big dinner somewhere. I would suggest every meeting down around the gate entrance for AREA1 there is plenty of room to stage along the road there and I think getting cars not associated with the parade back to the RV a hard thing to do given it will be evening and they will lock the site down completely at 11pm or midnight (i forget which)

OR

Decide on a restraunt or location away fromt he track and everybody meet there (away from all the confusion of the track area).

depending on the weather the track side location is very pretty and nice. We will need some lighting so those with a generator and some pole lights or light stands....bring them down....LOL

Its hard for me too go to far from the RV because I need to chauffured around if I leave home base. So I may or may not be able to attend anything that night..

my vote does not matter, seriosly though.... this is all for you guys so you do what you all want....

I may have to spring for some lobsters and center cuts for the grill that night......LOL

Hey guys...

I'm really cheap and want to spend more than just one day down there, but don't want to pay for an expensive hotel, and don't really want to park my car outside of a $50 hotel.

I read somewhere in here that the offer is always there to sleep in the RV, but no one ever takes it. I have no shame... so... is that offer still alive?

Saturday is my B-Day, and I was previously only planning to come down on Sunday, but now that I'm getting more excited, I'm thinking about scenarios to come down on Saturday and spend the night (no pre-existing bday plans).

Thoughts?

Alternatively, is it possible to camp there, or does anyone want to donate their yard?
