i have the flex as well.
ive had springs before but its def not an ideal setup considering the valving of your shock is not mated w/ the rate of the spring. also lowering the car on oem shocks increases the preload on the shock, increases the stress on the shock. sooner or later the shock will blow, but before that handling will be less than ideal because of the overload of stress on the shock. (pretty much your spring is doing all of the work and the shocks just trailing behind trying to control the movement)
thats just my 2 cents. but if you were to go with a spring id reccomend something very minimal just for looks and dont count on the car being "sooo much better"

If you plan on driving your car hard, coilovers can add all kinds of adjustable benefits.
That said, Koni yellows matched with springs can give you a great handling vehicle for street with mild track use as well, for a whole lot less cabbage.
