Default St. Augustine safe?

So we've been thinking about driving up to St. Augustine this summer and was wondering how safe it is to take my S2000? Is there lots of car vandalism up there, slashed tops and stolen seats? Any recommedations on hotels?

First St. Augustine is great
If you can drive something else I would. Not for fear of theft or vandalism but, lack of a place to park. Parking is very tight in St. Augustine you will be more out to get dings an stuff than any thing else.

Stay at a B&B They

as far as hotels are concerned, Denise and I spent our honeymoon at Casa Monica in downtown St. Augustine. Very cool nice hotel. casa monica link

I agree, St. Augustine is awesome, but parking sucks bad.

If you can get on a boat or Jetski while your there, you'll get the full experience. The old pirate hidouts are sweet.

i lived in st. augustine for 18 years. grew up there, i can safely say that you won't have to worry about your car as far as vandilism is concerned unless the senior citizens have nothing else better to do
the parking spaces can be tight in downtown, but anywhere else you should be fine. there are plenty of hotels and B&B's so I would try to get the best deal possible, too bad we don;t own the Comfort Inn on the beach no more, or I could have hooked you up with a room there
Enjoy the views also try to go to valano (sp?) bch. You will see a great downtown skyline from there.

I think you are talking about Vilano beach, and it's great. St. Augustine is a great place, I would Definitely recommend going to the Conch House to eat. They have a great blackened Grouper sandwich. Later man, John
