Street Racing
Well said WG. We all get a bit "spirited" from time-to-time but the more aggressive driving definitely belongs on a track and like John posted - Chin Motorsports is one of the best without a doubt. That is REAL driving but in a well organized "safe" environment.
I do have friends, neighbors, associates, clients, whatever that have everything from little RX-9s to Ferrari's to BMWs to a Z06 that drive ridiculous speeds on 95, 295, etc and think I am the one that is crazy for going to the track. WTF?
One good thing about the dorks that street race...they tend to wreck their cars more often leaving fewer S's on the road thus increasing the relative value of our collectible beauties. Of course we never want anyone, driver or innocent bystander, getting hurt and it still pains most of us to see a S all junked up.
Be safe all.

I have had a great time at Roebling Road, it is close, cheep, ($200.00 for the weekend) and not too hard on the car. You might even learn something about your driving and your car. There is nothing better than pushing a big expensive Porsche around a track and watching him point you around to pass. The S2000 was made for this driving.
Not to mention you won't have me handing you a $1000.00 ticket on Saturday night. Do the math even with the expense of the Hotel you can still race four times for the cost of one street racing ticket.
I love my car; I love to run it and those of you that know me, know I like to play.

Even my grandpa butt running around Roebling has passed many a Vette, Lotus, and P-car with a lesser driver. Our little Honda's hold up extremely well on road courses and in capable hands and NA I have seen the S2k blow out Hennesy Vipers and nearly everything else other than than the Master Intructor's in Spec Miata's and the like.
Save it for the track. You won't be sorry and I know from friends and first hand you will learn to drive more defensively and safely on the roads when you least think about it.
Men take responsibility, Children commit childish acts
Once you have driven on a race track, you find TRYING to go fast on the street Boring, because it take little talent and less brains.
I have been there done that
Road Atlanta
Roebling Road
Sebring
Moroso
Well said Willie G

Hopefully people will heed our warnings ... as I'm sure most, if not all, have first hand knowledge of why this 'street racing' thing is a bad idea. Yes, we all tend to give it a little 'extra' while dancing around ... but, trying to find the limit on the street has a high probability of danger to others ... eventually.
It's a tough thing to resist ... but, it has its' rewards
Trust me .. i do know this to be true

More likely than not this thread will be ignored by 80% of people that purchased their S2K to street race, hopefully we will cause pause for the other 20% and get a few of those on the track.
Listen, I'm an adrenaline junkie. I drive fast, but I drive really fast where the conditions warrant it.
I just hope that this thread can serve as an epiphany for the newbies.

can't think of one of us who doesn't drive like an idiot at times.. so... nice words... damn, i couldn't drive fast enough to catch you an your mom on that spirited drive from the sushi to the race track...
I only bought this car because when I am in it, you can only see me from the neck up, and it makes me look sexy. It's when I open the door to get out that everyone starts thinking ...."well, at least we hope he knows how to drive....."
