Default Sumitomo Tires

I'm in the market for new tires and was shopping on Tire Rack. Came across the Sumitomo HTR Z II. (Hmmm ) This is the comparison to OEM:

Potenza RE050
Load Index: 87W / 91W
Treadwear: 140
Traction: A
Temperature: A

Eagle F1 GS-D3
Load Index: 91Y / 91Y
Treadwear: 280
Traction: AA
Temperature: A

HTR Z II
Load Index: 87W / 91W
Treadwear: 220
Traction: AA
Temperature: A

Price (Bridgestone / Goodyear / Sumitomo)
Front: 186.00 / 163.00 / 77.00
Rear: 218.00 / 168.00 / 84.00

Just looking at the numbers, seems like a better tire for less than half the price.

Feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

are they still making Fuzion ZRI??

if they are I suggest those as a cheap OEM replacemtn tire. They are very good tires for the money

I know nothing of these tires you describe

Don't get me wrong, I dont mind shelling out a few bucks for good tires, I just noticed these. They have almost the same tread pattern as the Eagle F1's, which is what I was looking at originally.

I'm running the Sumitumos HTRz IIIs for my rears. After a heat cycle they are quite good. Best bang for buck tire yet. Speedy ran them for over a year. Loved 'em.

Haven't heard good things about the IIs.

Almost every wrecked car at the Dragon was running Fuzions. DO NOT buy them, the rubber quality is inconsistent. They grip grip grip and then.... let go without warning.

The REO50's were my street tires for years. Also a very good predictable tire, but expensive.

I'm running the HTRZ III's...

Great tires, especially for the price!

Meaning you have heard bad, or heard nothing?

mostly bad. Not a very good tire, and the S2K is an especially tire sensitive vehicle. Spend the extra $50 on the IIIs. They will do everything you want and more.

I'm running the HTRZ 3's as well right now ... really great tire ... especially for the money. Jim at Tire Rack said they are as good, if not even a little better, than the RE050's!

Post this up in the Jacksonville forum or just PM Negcamber (robert). I think he has a LOT of knowledge of these tires
