At the Supermeet
Well, as far as women, a few guys had their wives and girlfriends, and most of the pics you see (above) show my girl (Joy) and Jerseygirl (Kim), and a few others here and there.
I think everyone forgot to take pics of the women that came down and only took pics of cars!
Or that inflatable doll in the yellow S2K!

Looks like a great time again - really hated to miss Supermeet 2004, especially since I knew there was great organization and planning geniuses behind it again.
Tax season sucks! At least April 16th I'll be Dragon-bound...

Tidal, you suk! I warned you... I told you if you call me Mr. Tasty 1 more time, and I'd let you find out how I REALLY got the nickname. I'll see YOU at the Dragon!
All in good fun! The meet was a blast! Even better than last year! I can't imagine how good it will be NEXT year. Aside from the scares with the cops and the misunderstandings, it was perfect!
Good job Keith, Wei-shen, and TOMMY!!!

Thanks for attending everyone. I hope a good time was had by all. I'm also impressed we were incident free (one incident, zero damage) and ticket free. I was a little worried there on Sunday when we passed those Lake County sherriffs.
Let me add my two cents on the event funding and registration fees... This will also let you how things are run.
We as the Florida S2000 club have an annual budget of $0. Which means when we do an event the folks organizing need to outlay their own money and time to get the ball rolling. For example my name and credit card number were on all the meal contracts, to a tune of $4,000. We also worked very hard to keep the costs of the weekend down for everyone. Considering total cash outlay for 1 individual for the weekend excluding a hotel room was only $107, I think we did a REALLY good job.
As for the registration fee, we built in a small, check VERY small 'fee' over the costs of just the T-shirts, which needs to cover:
- Paypal fees (3% of each transaction)
- Event fees (setup/takedown/facility fees)
- Office supplies (for envelopes, paper, tickets, pens, etc.)
- Shipping on T-shirts
- Insurance
- Care and feeding the pro photographer
- Incidentals, including one of our giveaways
- Any overages or people 'sneaking' into events
Because this is a strictly a user-supported event, we needed to have EVERYONE pre-pay and pre-register in advance. Which the vast majority of the people did. I know some people don't like paypal, and there were several people who elected to mail in payments, which I gladly accepted.
I'll admit on the next part here I made a mistake, which I will never make again. I allowed late registrants. I did this to make sure everyone who wanted to go could go. Unfortunately aside from the complete chaos on Saturday before the group drive and at lunch, it completely ruined my day on Saturday trying to keep things straight. I'm sure anyone who saw me on Saturday probably realized I wasn't the happiest person. So now I know in the future we cannot and will not allow any late registrants at any time.
Now to address the people paying a registration fee to join the group drives. We cannot charge anyone to drive on public roads. However, we can and have to charge a fee to cover the additional expenses listed above. I could not see how it is fair for someone to expect the rest of the group (and me, if a shortfall) to pay their portion of these expenses. This is why I collected a $25 fee from EVERYONE who wanted to participate. How can I tell the other folks who gladly paid, some 1 month plus in advance, that people who just decided to show up didn't need to pay? Not to mention do they think our event is worthless?
Finally, for what its worth, and I havent sat down and done a good check of the finances as of yet, but it looks like I'm probably going to run a small deficit for the event, which I'm paying in addition to the my fees. Also, keep in mind also how many hours all the organizers spent trying to make this event go smoothly.
Just my $0.02...

What's with that "security guard"? Nothing better to do than to call the cops because there are 40 NSXs and S2000s adorning the streets and parking lot of the hotel. GEEZ! Supposedly we were blocking traffic...yeah, right....at 9am on Sunday morning!!
I'll be "discussing" this with the hotel. We rented a TON of rooms from them and Summer Bay. This is what we get as a thank you!!
