well... called USAA.. reported my top damage and they're sending out a hatchetman / adjuster.... so we'll see...

the other nights wind an rain storm was it's last straw.. small tree parts fell on it.. tear in the top.. plastic window cracked finally.. since it is insured i figured.. let's see..

The top prolly wouldn't total it without the seats needing replaced... Iirc, it's the value of the seats that puts some of our older cars over the replacement value threshold.. So you may be fine

Dude... How can they total it for just the top? Even if the entire frame assembly needs replacement, your car has to be worth at least $8k... New tops cost 1/2 that.

I have heard of cars getting totaled for torn top + missing seats before.

let's just see what tomorrow brings.. hadn't seriously considered the top would total the car.. that was more towards insurance humor...

The seats are what total the car. The top even at Honda's price the top wouldn't total a car.

Majestic Honda usually has the best prices.

List: 1090.37 Their cost: 763.26

Nearest I can figure the seats and rails are about $1700 a piece at Majestic's price wihich is usually about 30% off retail. So if you figure about $2,200 each and the top you are up to about $5,500 and that would be close to the salvage percentage.

Just in case you want to know.
