Man. You're car is wack!

Just kidding. It may be differences in Dyno machines too. The values I posted were from Race Related in Largo. Not sure what kind of machine XAT is running.

I'm still waiting for my chart from RR. Damn you Scott!

I'm interested to see how much power I lost with the HKS.
The S2000 ecu retards timing and loses hp in the muggy heat so we all could have done a bit better that day JIM. A while back James from race related told me he dynoed an S2000 stock. Then installed HKS exhaust and redyno'd losing 5 hp. He then cut off the resonator and welded everything back up and re dyno'd and lost another 5 hp on top of it making a 10 hp loss from stock. A certain amount of backpressure is good for exhaust scavenging on a naturally apirated engine. On a forced induction car less backpressure is better suited. That day I was stock with a short ram intake. People criticize short rams for causing heat bog off the line but all S2000's have bog if you don't give a little rev off the line. If short ram intakes are so bad I should have had lower #'s but I dyno'd the second highest hp and the highest torque over the rest of the S2000's with cold air intakes and exhausts. I dyno'd the Beetle a while back and got 165hp at 6000rpm's and 207 torque at 3200 rpm's. It's almost opposite tq and hp compared to the S2000.

XAT was positioning the wheels on the back edge of the rollers and not in the center as they should be. They may also not be exactly calibrated figures accounting for atmospheric pressure and temps. That is probably a factor in the lower than expected #'s. Even an NSX that dyno'd at XAT only got 220 hp.

The bottom line is that the S2000 is pretty maxxed out from the factory and simple bolt ons of any type won't net any significant hp gains. If you wanna change something( intake/exhaust ect. ect. ) do it for looks and sound as the biggest priority. The S2000 should dyno at around 200 hp to the wheels..... some get a bit more or less. A little more or less hp or weight makes a negligable difference in the real world. A skilled driver in a 190 hp S2000 weighing a few pounds more will beat a average driver in a 210 hp S2000. Check a few different dyno locations and ask for group discounts.

That last dyno day at XAT was hot as balls and they were resting back on the roller a bit. After seeing some other dyno shops, I would like to go somewhere else if possible. Even with my upgrades I still think I have a factory dog from the get go that and I do not know what kind of abuse the previous owner did to it.

But my new CAI and the a valve adj last week should do something ( well maybe not but the little clicks from the valves have stopped LOL)
