Weekly Jax Meet Sonic
Met a bunch of cool people at the super meet. It seems like a lot of us are interested in a regular meet in Jax. I am good any days except Wed and Sun.
Shay- Are you able to drive the S around Jax yet?
The general consensus is that Saturdays are good even for some of the guys to our south (willie gee). I will be there on Saturday.

I am good for any day as long as we make it a regular thing. I am pretty much free to change my work schedule as needed. I met a bunch of cool people and had a great time at the big meet. I know ours won't be that extensive, but good people = good time. Let make it happen.
Physically cleared to drive the S last week per the doctor but something is up with my passenger rear wheel. Hoping it's just a brake pad but doubt it after Bryan (Lbsypher) inspected about 10 days ago. I get cleared and the S is down.
In any event I plan to put it in the shop in the next couple of weeks depending on Stage 6. I need to get whatever that problem is fixed plus I'm going to have them fully inspect the car for track worthiness and do the banjo bolt upgrade since I have an "old" S that has the 2-holed bolts vs. the 4.
In regards to meets - Back in 2002 we started a little group called "First Coast S2k" and we would meet the first Friday of each month at the Hooters near Regency. We started with 3 (Lbsypher, Jay Powell, and myself). Jay has long since sold his S and moved but 2 of the "Founding 3" are still kicking around.
Anyway, our meets grew from 3 to 20 a couple of times and we changed venues down to CaddyShack at World Golf Village to accommodate. We also moved to a Saturday of course and we frequently pulled in cars from St. Augustine, G-ville, Tallahassee, Orlando, Daytona, Melbourne, Tampa, etc. It got big but I also started having kids (ages 3 and 4 now) so my personal time is spent more with those guys vs. the car guys. I still do more car stuff than a lot of guys in my position but nothing like I used to do when I first got the car.
My 2 cents is pick a centrally located spot and meet there at the same time every week/month. Post pics, etc. in this forum. You will get a following without a doubt as proven above. I will make some meets here and there I promise but after the S is back up to speed. You will also find that after you become a regular somewhere and the crowd grows they'll start doing things like marking off parking spots for you, discounts on food, etc.
