Default whats the opposite of getting hired?

what just happened.

im not really in the mood to type out a big long thing but this is what happened...

apparently at some point in my working at Classic Honda i viewed an image or was blocked by the filter at work that was hosted on poststuff4intensity.com. let me be perfectly clear in that, i have never even heard of this website... i dont even know if i typed it out right just now. this could have been last year for all i know.

during the past couple weeks some lady at the corporate has been reviewing what every computer in the company has been viewing on the internet. apparently that website has naked women on it somewhere and my one hit to that website (which was, no doubt, an accident) is grounds for termination. i tried explaining to the lady that stuff gets posted on forums that i cant even see (b/c its blocked) so i dont even know that i shouldnt be on that particular page. despite my attempts at reasoning with her she was having none of it and i ultimately walked out of the office with a handshake from the GM and no job.

i gathered my things from my desk (which includes about 4 pieces of paper, my Honda plaque, a model S2000, and a large rubberband ball (pics later)) and said "peace out"

so after this knot in my stomach goes away i hope to go job hunting tomorrow bright and early

Sorry to hear that man. Its tough finding a job out there right now too. Maybe a good time to rethink your game plan and really go after what you want..

Good luck!

Crazy

Are you the only one that uses that computer? If you are sure you never went there, it might be worth a call to an attorney.

Best of luck

everyone leaves their computers logged in all day so its possible someone tried to view that website on my computer, but i never leave it unattended for any length of time.

i heard they were going to do this and i had a bad feeling about it seeing as how i used to spend most of my days with a honda-tech or s2ki screen open for when there is no work to do. i cant control what people post on forums and i probably shouldnt have been on them anyways but if they were to fire me for forum usage i could show them multiple times where this forum and h-t has made them money through me.

i guess i could see how an attorney might be able to do something about it but if i were to get my job back through those means i would just be a marked man anyways. i LOVED working there though, its rare (in my experience) to not have anyone at a job that i cant stand being around. not that i would do anything about it, but theres always one or two people that can make me really despise working somewhere. this place was full of nice people and i honestly expected and planned to work there for quite a few more years.

but... it is what it is. not much else i can do but suck it up and hit the streets

Sorry to hear man...

The attorney wouldn't get your job back...but you would sue for compensation for wrongful termination.

apparently there were people at other stores that searched google for things like "juicy clitoris"

im sure they got fired, but at most maybe i could have gotten a week of unpaid absense? lol i dunno. firing me over one instance is definitely overboard.

I bet they were looking to"get rid of" fire people and you were easy to fire because of some litle nothing on your work computer.

Good luck, something better will come along
