Have your daughter back up and drive forward in the driveway. Very boring, but gets you use to those take off's out of first and reverse. the hardest to learn.
She hates reverse but mainly because she doesn't sit high enough in the car so she isn't comfortable backing up. Shake...... more gas..........wobble............more clutch.............cough, cough.............blah! Start button.....Shake.........More gas........
I forgot what it was like. She still wants an automatic and that is what we will buy but we will continue working on this and then on to a short drive. Afterwards when I was driving she was following along whith my shifting and watching my feet when I was driving. Just one short lesson and she understood so much more about what to do etc.

Well we had the first lesson this afternoon after school. (in the remote corner of the Publix parking lot, my driveway has a slight incline) and she did good!

You better hope she don't master clutching to fast. You know who's car she will want to take out for a spin.

Oh the shake, gas, wobble, dead, start, over and over again. Oh the memories.
Yeah, watching is good. I am glad you both had a good bonding expierience today.

I taught myself...
It was so funny when my mom "taught" me.
"Wow.. you catch on fast!" she said as I down shifted into a turn.
Good times.
