Default Who says Bridgestones cant last 40k miles?!?

Well, finally after 40k miles of hard driving and 1 dragon trip my OEM RE050's took a dive. Ive been well aware that I have needed new tires for quite some time just havent been able to get them just yet, until now. Luckily this one just decided it didnt want to go anymore AFTER I had parked instead of blowing out on me...BTW the fronts went first!

Aftermath of 40k miles..FRONT

Already on order..should get them Tues! I cannot wait!
Dunlop Direzza Star Spec in OEM 215/245 sizes. I was going to go up to 225/255 but I keep reading alot about squirm and less steering response so Im gonna try OEM sizes first then move up..

Wow... so much pride in the prolonging of the tire life. I'm just glad you're still alive.

You are lucky, very very lucky. I wouldn't brag about such dangerous & reckless behavior. If this had blown out at speed you could have seriously injured yourself or others.

I had around 16.5-17k on my OEM tires, including two full seasons of autocross, some track (road course) time, a few mountain trips, etc and they weren't quite at the wear bars yet, I repalced them so the new owner wouldn't have to worry. If you don't beat on the car too much they'll last awhile.

I don't know your financial situation, but sometimes you need to consider that credit card debt is the lesser of two evils....
