Added my name to the Barber mailing list. Definitely going to pitch a tent there next year!!! A couple of days ago, I noticed that tent sites are $75 for the weekend and that includes parking for a vehicle. I'm thinking: Weekend pass+tent site+paddock pass.....
This facility is TOP NOTCH!! And....is well worth planning right now for a return trip if they show up on the radar for next year.
The entire rack is in a valley with "field" viewing for just about the entire race. The onsite trams take you around the track, stopping about 6-7 differnt paces for incredible views. Everyone is mello, just laying out on the grassy noles and enjoying the scenery.
This was my first "road course" and is worth every penny that you can scrounge right now for next year.
Barber Motorsports Park is by far one of the nicest, cleanest track's in the country. The Muesum alone is amazing, I was up there this weekend for the Rolex Series. If you saw that race than you know that #69 FXDD/SpeedSource Mazda Rx-8 took the GT Victory. #70 Castrol Syntec/SpeedSource Mazda Rx-8 took 3rd & #68 MazdaSpeed Motorsports Development/Mazda Rx-8 took 5th. I was with the 68 car, and at one point in the race all three SpeedSource car's where 1,2,3.
It was a great race and a great weekend overall, and if you have the chance to go up to Barber please do, you wont be disapointed.
Lets talk elevation change kids....................I was on track pre race today escorting an Indycar driver in the S, it was.........................................wait for it.....................wait for it.......................

We were climbing thru turns 7-8 and it was about a 3 or 4 story climb and I said "hold on to the roll hoops" and she replied "Oh don't let me fall off the back"
