You Dawg!!! There were two times today when the announcers announced that when a driver on her inside and a driver on her outside would pass her, they were making a "Duno Sandwich". She was probably just reminiscing about her pre-race escort. You Dawg!!!
I'm just jealous that I wasn't at Barber this weekend. Next year definitely.
We have to go in force next year guys, this track is awesome!
The experience was different in many ways from St Pete yet fun none the less.
They had a car corral and we were front and center. Most people do not park inside the "Park" (Motorsports Park) so the cars were on display. The car corral manager was in radio contact with Indycar officials on track and they timed our entrance perfectly. They stopped all traffic (cars, trams, people etc) and we rolled out quickly to track entrance on the back stretch and we were free to drive spirited thru about 5 turns before we hit the front stretch and rolled up in front of the stage just in time to pick up the drivers as they came off the stage from their introduction.
I was 3rd on the sign up and thought I would get the 3rd place starting driver but they introduced them staring from last to first so I got Milka!
I saw that. Impressive. As for the race, her comments were, "Had a great race until I made a mistake!!! It didn t want to go down in gears and accidently went into 1st!!! I feel sorry for the team!!"
So next week we go back to Long Beach. In '08, she won the Long Beach Grand Prix while running in the Atlantic Championship Series. Indy Series is going to be a lot more competitive but at least she knows the track. I wonder how she'll do on the ovals? We'll find out May 1st in Kansas.
Milka looked dangerous to all many times on the track yesterday. Jesus I could give a better performance I guarantee you that. Johnny likey the throttle. Ask any FHP trooper around.
Simona......I tell you...she looks like the real deal to me guys. ANd we have got to make it to Barber next year. The views of the track and area were breathtaking.
