FS: 2002 S2000 only 81k miles Great Condition Tampa
Location: Clearwater, FL
Means of Contact: via S2ki or at CobraSpdRH@yahoo.com
Asking Price: $12,700
Description:
I am selling my 2002 Honda S2000 with just over 81,000 miles. The car is in excellent condition, red exterior with black interior. There are hardly any blemishes on the exterior, besides a few small paint chips on the front end from daily commuting. The car is garaged at home and at the office. Interior is in very good condition as well, seat bolsters are good with little wear and dash, center console, carpets and floor mats look new (all new LED interior lights as well). It has dark window tint and aftermarket speakers for great sound (stock locations, but we all know how lame the stock speakers are). I also Plasti-Dipped the front and rear "H" emblems, but can easily remove for new owner if desired. The only modifications to the car are a set of Tein springs and a Password JDM front strut-tower bar to improve handling. There are some scrapes on the underside of the bumper due to being lowered but nothing visible.
I purchased this car in December 2012 with 75k miles. It has a clean CarFax with all service records from purchase listed (26 records, most from Palm Harbor Honda). I took it to Tampa Hondaland for a PPI, Code Scan and compression test (receipts for all work and CarFax come with purchase). Results: Scan system for codes, good at this time. Check engine compression - good at this time - all cylinders at 250 psi. They did recommend new front brake pads, serpentine belt (slight cracking), spark plugs, battery and rear tires, all of which were completed by dealer upon purchase. I also replaced the master cylinder and changed the oil (Pennzoil Synthetic Titanium 10W30). Since then it has been daily driven during the week to and from the office. Recently, at ~78k miles, I took it to John at LHT where it was treated to a new clutch, resurfaced flywheel, new transmission fluid, brake fluid flush, coolant flush, differential fluid change, valve adjustment and alignment check. As you can see, I had every intention of keeping this car for a long time. Unfortunately, we don't have room for me to keep a third car much longer, so the S as to go. Anyone who buys this car can just hop in and drive, it needs nothing.
The one thing it will need eventually is a new top. It currently has the original top with one patch in the typical spot. It does not leak (trust me, if it hasn't leaked with the storms we've had the past few weeks it won't ever), but I also don't put down the top so as to not stretch the patch. So, it is fine to drive as-is if you don't use the top (I've been doing it for almost a year), but if you do, it may stretch the patch. I spoke to John about replacing with Honda factory top and can pass that info along to the new owner.
I searched for quite a while to find an S with documented maintenance in great condition, then went through the whole car to know everything is properly sorted. I will try to attach a few pictures below, and will add some more interior and engine bay pictures once I can take them. I would be happy to show the car to anyone who is interested, but no joyrides. If interested, feel free to contact me via the above-listed email address. As stated, the price is $12,700 OBO, and I would much rather sell it to an enthusiast on here than to someone on Craigslist, AutoTrader or CarMax.
