Just puting this out there.
A couple of people have suggested Carmax. I checked online and read some forums. The overwhelming opinion is that they give an offer that is usually thousands below Edmunds or KBB value. I understand the source is not exactly a proper sampling of the Carmax experience. So, has anyone here had the same bad or good experience when selling a car to them?
CarMax will give most certainly give you the wholesale value of the car. The figure will be closer to the trade-in value. The numbers they get are as accurate as to what your car is selling for at last week's auction. They can tell exactly how many is in the market and exactly what its worth. They wont sell your car to their customers so your car will be a wholesale piece.
My mom took her 2007 E350 Mercedes there in March of this year and they offered her $28,000. Not to shabby after 3yrs of driving and 33,000miles. That figure was $1,000 MORE than BlueBook. They really wanted it.

You're right, Barry. They offered me $17,000 which is pretty much the same as the Trade-in value on Edmunds.com.
They did gush about the condition, though. There was another guy there with his black 2007 S2000. They said his had twice as many miles as mine and had been in an accident. (I couldn't tell. It looked great to me.) They described mine in the paperwork as "...great miles, over 27K, runs and shows well..."
I was hoping for something closer to the Private Party estimate on Edmunds. It says $19,055.
Would anyone be interested in paying $19,000 for it? I'd have to sell it fast though.

Would anyone be interested if I asked $18,500? That's less than the price that John mentioned the other 2006 going for at auction.
It's 27,900 miles, red, nice tint, Viper alarm with proximity sensor (it goes off if you even LOOK in the windows
).
If there's no interest by Monday, it's gone.
