It is not a need but, it sure is fun to have. In a day to day street car it is not over kill, allot of auto makers install this type of LSD in there production vehicles.
The feeling is that of having a car with a good suspension setup, the car can push through a corner under acceleration. If you apply to much power and start to slid out it is easier to control and correct.

sorry no law to bother me during my playtime 
I have performed around 10 miles of figure eights
I went to the Brooksville airport industrial park and found a few business closed with fresh blacktop, this was ideal for playtime 
I started to feel a bit woozy after awhile but, I kept at it. I also got a little drift action going on a few times too
The rear now has 64 miles on it, 30 heat cycle miles, 10 miles figure 8,10 highway, and 14 stop and go local driving
I need to drive the car as much as I can in the next few weeks to makeup another 440 or so. After that the rear will have been fully broke in.
I only caught the attention of one older guy driving a Dodge Magnum, he asked what I was doing????????? I tryed to tell him without sounding like I had lost my mind but, I
