3. liability - police & insurance may not cover you if you're in a Winter accident on Summer tyres

The wrecked (totalled!!) S pic that 8BALL posted was my previous MY03 AP1 - in case anyone didn't know. That occured just before dawn on January 18, 2005. There was snow on the ground, but not on the roads. Black ice, poor tread (see pic), and Bridgestone Potenza S-02's on all four corners contributed to this incident. They're great in warm climes, but suck in cold weather.
I got the insurance $$ to replace the car (and exhaust!) - but with my current MY02 AP1.
Still trying to figure out what tread to place on the car this year as the tires are getting a little thin...

like what i said....the winnter tires r strongly recommended... but i do not have the extra money to pay the extra set of rims & tires...
i will drive pretty carefully.
jessica...go to get the dunlop winter M3 or M2..
a lot of people said those are pretty good for the winter....

Do you really need Winter tires in the StL area that you can only use 'til ~March, or are you better off w/ good quality All-Seasons that you can use year round?

Jessica, especially, probably doesn't need full Winters because the MY06+ S has VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) - just don't take liberties with it in poor/bad conditions
My spare rims have All-Seasons, not Winter tires

That was my subtle way of suggesting Jessica (& Frank) run All-Season tires too - Proxes if they like - not Winter tires...
