Alexis and I are planning on being there.
Ron maybe you could do a poll on the different routes.

Include me as tentative / slightly shorter run preferred

Straight shot to Centerville is 125mls - that makes it a '~300 mile / 8-hrs of driving day' (including a few added miles & time for the fun route & stoppages)

Just me thinking out loud .. please don't flame me: I just think ~200 mls / 6-hrs max driving would keep the fun factor up

yeah I know it's probably too long to the IL trip. I'm leaning towards eaglecom's trip for that reason.

FYI

We drive the listed route to Centerville from a point on Hwy Z three miles south of Wentzville often. The one way drive time is 2 Hrs 40 Mins (123 Mi) including a short pee - gas stop at Potosi.

You're still looking at a minimum six hours drive time total in a group.

We'll go wherever majority wants to go. Certainly up for new scenery!

Based on previous experience, I was allowing:

short pee / gas stop x 3
unintentional detour x 1
'pavement ends' x 1
find alternate lunch venue x 1
photo stop x 1

That's how 123 miles & 2 hrs 40 mins becomes 150 mls & 4 hrs

Can't argue with that!
