thanks for the advice. i wasnt sure on the tweeter placement yet. i like the look on yours. i was going to place it above the handles but the passenger side has a raised part on the door. i want it symmetric. will probably put it where yours are.

Looks like a good place for the tweeters: not too far from the woofers for imaging & time alignment, & should help keep any treble over-brightness (that some complain of w/ the Polks) under control...

When 8Ball and others helped me install mine it was an all day event. Some add'l time was spent getting the DCI to work. My suggestion, unless there is plenty of help around to put in the Dynamat later, you can do that at your leisure. Also, not sure if you thought of Tweeter placement yet, but this was quick and easy for my 2001 .... see pic.

Ron - the carbon panel looks awesome - I don't remember that!

Sorry - the weekend is taken/full with "honey do" stuff.

Now that you mention that though, I see I posted the pic that I copied for my tweeter install ... not the pic of my door ... good catch.

Come on over ryan... We'll get 'er done. I would prefer to start earlier than later, so can you be by at 8:00?

Any other hands would be welcome.

Answer the following:
1) A new harness to connect new HU to existing wire harness?
2) Wire diagram of OEM plug layout in case we need to cut wires
3) Are we doing the sub? Do you have a box?
4) What is the magnet size of the new speakers? Did you confirm they fill fit in the metal door frame or is an adaptor needed.?

a wiring harness came with the new cd player, but where would i get an adapter to plug right into the oem harness?

dont have a wiring diagram of the oem wires

no sub or sub box

the speakers are 6.5" and will be replacing the front speakers. I have done a test fit and it seems that the speakers fit no problem.

i have an amp and would like an amp rack but have not made anything yet.

i still need to get connectors and will be doing so after work tonight. anything else that i need to get before tomorrow???

You should be able to get a harnes at most electronic dealers. Ask for Eclipse to Honda. Run less than $20. If you expect your dash controls to work, you'll also need a DCI adaptor which you can only get online. Check here

Get a sheet of MDF and have the store cut into pieces for ease of transport. We will need 2 pieces 28" X 18" each.

Search for the wire diagram in the electronics section as we will need it.

Leave your spare at home. The tools can also stay. I would recommend a can of tire flat just in case... Even though I hate the stuff. You may think about changing your mind of where to mount your amp.
