Hey guys, a friend of mine got some performance parts for his Grand Prix GTP since he keeps going through transmissions and needs to have them installed. He's in your general area so do any of you know any good transmission mechanics that can give him a good price and is willing to warranty the work (the parts are warrantied by the manufacturer if installed by a mecahnic).

Actually he's a long way from home and needs to move back down here... haha.

I think he's actually in O'Fallon as well. I linked him to this thread so I'm sure he'll see it, but odds are he won't take it to a dealership.... hasn't had much luck with them (then again, that was also the dealerships in Dallas, may be a different story up there). I appreciate the info though

Doug0716 - still looking for a transmission mechanic? I'm guessing we've got a member's favorite that's a post or two away...

 

He's taking it to a few places tomorrow (and umm, I'm kinda confused by the rest of your post...)... I could always call him if I get a recomendation.

 

I'm sure someone in the Gateway Community has had transmission work done (?) Anyone with a favorite mechanic to recommend to Doug0716?

 

Ok well he took it to a shop... didn't get the name but I'll make sure to get the info for you guys in case somebody else needs the info in the future.
