Default Automatic Transmissions

Hola everyone!

I know I got everyone's attention since the S doesn't come with one of these. My question is this, I have heard from several people that if you change the tranny fluid in a car with an automatic tranny that it messes it up and will soon after drop the transmission like a bad habit. The last couple days when the Camry is cold the transmission will slip between gears 1 and 2. Would it hurt to change the fluid and see what happens? I personally think it may benefit but in the past have been told otherwise. Thoughts?

Wouldn't hurt at all to do a tranny fluid change... it's the cheapest place to start.

I agree, change it. The tranny probably holds 9-10QTs and you will only get 3-4 when you drain it, so refill the first drain, start the engine run tranny thru gears stop engine and drain again, repeat.

Did you check the oil level cold??? It just might be low.

You could always run it by AAMCO, they can do a tranny flush that could help this but I'm not a tranny expert

I hav always change my automatic transmission fluid at 75,000 miles. I have never had any issues. The Envoy went over 300,000 miles with no issues on regular changes

I checked the fluid and the level was fine. I think I may attempt this fluid change and see what happens. I need to change the oil as well sometime this week. Thank you for the responses!
