Default drove my car through a puddle

actually it was more like a flooded road. i didnt think it was that deep and ive went through it before. long story short my car died. i changed the oil and like 2 cups of water came out. there was like 3 cups of water in the intake piping. " i have a aem cold air v2."

so anyways. car still wouldnt start after i drained everything. the motor still turns so it cant be locked up, but i was lost.

so i called my insurance"allstate" and at first they were sayin it was at my fault accident." my deductible is 1000"but than they changed it around to where it was comprehensive since there was no damage outside of the vehicle. which means i dont have to pay anything becuase i have a 0 dollar deductible on that.

so my car goes in the shop soon. hopin to get a new motor!!! woo im excited.

Good luck today. Let us know what happens. Hydrolock is nothing to mess with. Based on the amount of water you took out of the oil, you may have some internal scaring in the cylinder walls. Did you notice any metal shavings when changing the oil?

ok well im getting pissed. I talked to meyers today and they said that its hydrolocked and im gonna need a new engine. meyer said that it will prolly get a used engine.

im not happy with this. why the hell would i want someone elses shitty motor that they probably didnt even treat good in my car. it could come with all kiinds of problems that i will get stuck paying for.

they said they found two used motors. one with 80 thousand and one with 40 thousand. my car had 107 so theyre thinkn the one with 80.

but i just called the insurance adjuster and told him i wanted the one with 40 if anything. but i wont know for sure until later today. i will keep you guys posted.

Sorry to hear the news on the used engine.

I don't think that's right, but that's how insurance companies work. Take your money and keep as much of it as possible when you need it.

ok. well insurance and meyer are dbags. but they are putting the motor with 80k in my car.

when i first asked the guy at meyer he said he was getting the motor at a local salvage yard. but when i told him to go ahead and go through with everything he said he getting it from out of state from some salvage yard.

i feel like they are all just lying douchbags and i would like to punch them all in the face. i shoudnt have even took my car there.

why would i want a motor from a salvage yard that noone even knows if its been abused or what not.

Sorry to hear about the hydro lock...

But honestly, why would your insurance company replace your motor with a brand new motor when yours wasn't new either? If the miles were low and it holds compression, I really wouldn't care if it was used.

BTW, I've driven some pretty bad weather and never hydro locked a motor. How did you do it? Did you go through a puddle at WOT?
