I've had one of my cars there before. They did a more than resonalble job and took care of all the insurance paperwork as well. I would consider taking my car back to them

Which shop did you use? Would you use them again?? I had some work done a Maze a few years ago and was happy with their work. It was on an accord so I wasn't as picky as maybe I would with my S but it looked great.
It was Show Me autobody in Pacific. I am happy with the work they did and would take it there agian if I had to.

Keith - still havnt seent he car in person but at least you dont have to drive around in a life sized matchbox crackup car until its fixed....that got old quick, pulling up to lights and hearing "dude your car is f'd up man"

Hit and runs are terrible. Sorry for everyones misfortunes. I recently had someone back into my rear bumper, it has stress cracks and a small chip and makes noises when i go over bumps now.

Does anyone have any repair shops in the STL area that work well with body kits that are trustworthy and reasonable? I need to get my new front bumper installed/painted, and possibly a new driver side fender. Ive had really bad luck!

Just a thought... In cases where there are no witnesses, or cameras for a hit in run, and you know your not going to see any money for the damages present, wouldnt it be better not to file a police report. Police reports for accidents show up on Carfax etc, thus lowering resale. Am I wrong on this?

Most body shops don't like fiddling with aftermarket body kits/pieces since 75-80% are made in China and fit like crap. The higher end aftermarket companies usually make great stuff and the fitment is pretty spot on... that way, the body shop doesn't have to spend hours to try to get something to fit properly. I tend to stick with OEM parts when doing cosmetic upgrades.

I think if you know for sure that you'll be handling the damage out of pocket then there is no need to file a police report. I really don't think all police reports include VIN numbers of the cars involved... usually it's the insurance companies that obtain this information through the claim.

Washed the car yesterday, for the first time since I got it back, and I noticed all of these little blue speckles all over it. Its blue paint and it must have blown onto my car from another car they were painting at the body shop. I took it there yesterday and they said I need to leave it for a day and they they are going to buff it out. They told me it has happened before and that my car will be okay. I can't get a break lately. At first I thought it would need to be wet sanded, but they convinced me that they will get it off of there. Any thoughts on what I should do?

Just let them fix it Nick...

Could you feel the specs of paint with your finger nail? If so, they they will be able to compound it out. If not, then it's in the clear coat or base paint.

BTW, got my car back yesterday and the body shop did an 'ok' job... nothing to write home about and to recommend to others.

Oh well, IDK if I'm THAT anal or there are not GOOD body shops in STL.

No - your not anal about it, you love your car and treat it with alot of respect, maybe even more so than me I try not to let things like this ruin my day and for themost part I'm ok with it, they made a mistake, they are promising to fix it, everyhting SHOULD be back to normal....but its the little things that count in a job like this.

WTF is it so F'ing hard to do the job right the first time? It is totaly unacceptable to get a car back with another color paint speckled all over it. I also had to clean little bits of grey primer or some shite off of both of my seats and the steering wheel. When I was there yesterday, I noticed a black Astin Martin DBS in one of the bays. I can only imagine the conversation this guy would have if he saw little blue paint spots on his car.

I'm not writing off this shop or saying the initial work was anything less than what it should have been, but I expected it to go a little smoother. Now I have to trip off of the fact that someone I don't know will be using a buffer and compund on the car, will they use microfiber to take it off? Will they take their time and make sure there are no swirls? Who knows. These guys get paid per job probably and athe faster it gets done the more they make. It seems like every time I have taken the car somewhere it has come back with something different. I will leave it to chance.
