A big thanks to Mike, Shaun, Pete, and Tim for all their help on the install. Pete, Tim, I hope the wifes were understanding. I would imagine Mike will think twice before he throws out phrases like "It is a quick install, so stop at my place". In theory, it looks so easy. Though we now know he's not nuts when he says we need to start early. It looks and sounds great! No comparison to the stock unit and speakers. Still need to take some time to familarize myself with the head unit and fine tune to optimize the sound.

Would have been nice to have had some sunny and warm weather today to enjoy it, but tomorrow is March and it should be nice by the weekend.

I was thinking next Sunday we could put in the rear speakers, sub, and two more amps.....just kidding .

Again, thanks for all the help. Looking forward to our next opportunity to get together again.

I'd like to show for a while with two able hands. The afternoon is busy, though.
Now I feel like a total dork! I somehow confused last weekend's install with this coming. rpstl, glad you are happy with your system! Sounds like you were in good hands at 8BALL's place.

Well at least the taxes are done...

Is the DCI working as expected? Don't know if you know, but there are some button combinations available that you did not have with the stock DCI.

Have you reset your gains on the amp properly. We kind of rushed at the end there.

I haven't had a chance yet to play further with the amp gains, but I thought we were close when I left. The DCI is working and I've found some (all?) the combinations. Only confusion is I thought the mute button was working when I left, but now it drops the volume significantly, but not to mute?

Tip of the day: Remove your favorite CD from the stock head unit prior to uninstalling it.

Anyone know how long it takes to fully break in new speakers?

Can't wait to test it with the top down.

My alpine does the same... When mute is selected it cuts volume by 1/2 - 3/4, but not completely silent.

Combinations are different between Disk and Radio. These combinations are so instinctive, but let me try

For Disk: Audio Console + Volume up/down = Song up or down; Audio Control = Select Radio
For Radio: Channel + Volume = Select next favorite channel; Channel only = Select between FM1, FM2 and AM1, Audio Control = Select Disk
