Looking at getting 4.57 gears installed
It will probably be a while before I decide to take the plunge. I got other things to spend money on right now......like rent. I am thinking about going back to school in the Spring, so I'll have to hold on more car stuff. I've also got a cool 88 Bronco I would like to fool around with, but I gotta save some dough! Plus my Wife doesn't understand the "desire to mod" like I do.

Ok so are the gears that big of a difference? What's the pros and cons of the gears? I know it's better take off right?

The difference is in the shift points. The 4.57 was designed (IMO) for autocross. The 4.44 are more daily driver. On a quarter mile run the 4.57 will require an additional shift, while the 4.44 will not. Do a search, do not take my word for it!!
The gears do make a change in the car.
Be sure to get someone who really understands how to rebuild the rear-end!! You will need the yellow-box for the speedo correction. And shims for the gear install. I would also recommend cryo-treating the gears.
I had Hidden Performance do my install. They hired someone else to do the actual rebuild of the differential.
Good luck!
