So the old law stated that you had to run with 2 plates because you were issued 2 plate, unlike some large trucks that were only issued 1 plate...
The new law which said you are issued 1 plate so you only have to run with 1 plate, unless you pay for a second plate, Or have Vanity plates which you are automatically issued 2 plates does that mean you have to run 2 plates by law ????

 

The wording possibly suggests it's optional, but it's not clear...

It only says you shall attach both plates if you request a 2nd - is "shall" a legal requirement?

 

Applicants who request 2 license plates shall attach the plates to the front and rear of the vehicle. Applicants for personalized and special license plates will be automatically be issued 2 license plates.

 

Question for you guys... Do you have to reside in MO to register your car there?

 

You need a personal property receipt so i would think so ??? You could call the DMV
