Default Moving to the STL Area

I have been back and forth for awhile now where to move to.

Figure STL would be the best for me as I used to live in Central Missouri, and the weather is warmer for longer than Wisconsin.

So, What I need help is where I should be looking to live. I do NOT want to live in a run down area with high crime and shitty roads. Im looking for a nice neighborhood, with low crime, that isn't too far from STL. No more than 45 minutes from Downtown. Would prefer a 1bd/Studio Condo or Townhome.

I've done some research and kinda have a feel for what Suburbs would be best, however do any of you have an opinions on living right in Downtown? Garage is a must. Will be renting for now.

Any insight into any employment would be appreciated as well. Will be looking for something in the IT field. Obviously wont be moving till a Job is lined up.

Hi Mondo... Not to be bias, but I would stongly suggest you begin your search in St. Charles County. St. Peters or O'fallon are the places to live these days. In fact, O'Fallon has recently been voted one of the top 10 cities in the US to live. O'fallon is about 45 minutes from downtown St. Louis so it does meet one of your criteria.

If you key in "one bedroom garage O'fallon MO" to your Internet Explore Search engine, you'll get back some really nice places. Pick and choose a few based on what you want to spend and we can echo back to you details about these rentals.

As far as IT Job Opportunities, I can probably help you with that as well. Please e-mail me your updated resume and I can send you some details. Email to mtohrel@charter.net. Look at these job postings and let me know if any of them sound interesting. We'll take it from there.

Good luck in your rental and job search.

Thanks for the reply.

I will check out those areas you suggested.

Those Enterprise positions unfortunately don't match my skill set. I will update my Resume and send it to you in the next few days.

Forgot to mention in my original post, I won't be moving till the end of the Summer/Fall at the earliest.
