Hi Friends,
I am a new member and I purchased a 2001 S2000 and I will take delivery around the first week in January. Any advice? I would like to get together with other S2000 owners in spring/summer time. Thanks.

Yes, you are right about next week being the longest week. I am so excited about owning an S2000. As far as advice goes, I would like to know what to expect from this amazing car. Is there a preferred Honda dealer to take my car to in the St. Louis Area?

I'm currently working on getting sponsorship from Ed Napleton in St. Charles. Should be finalized just around the time you get your S.

As far as expectations of this car... Well... be ready for one of the most fun rides in your life.

Thanks for the information. I live right down the street from Napleton Honda and I would like to give them my business. I want to make sure the dealership that I plan to take my special car to is a good place to take an S2000. They do seem to have the most S2000's for sale.

Most of us are quite familiar with awrench. During our meets we do things like: Oil/Tranny/Differencial fluid changes, install S/C and CAI's, HU/AMP/Sub installs, clear sidemarkers and diffusers... the list goes on.

If you want to learn to work on your own car, any and all of us are always willing to give you a hand.

Some of the first set changes you will probably want to consider depending how 'stock' you will want to keep your MY01.

Depending on how many miles you have, you should probably do a full fluid changeout (Oil, Tranny, Diff)
Wheels & Tires (check in our for sales section for discounts at Wheel Image)
Performance Driving School
CAI
Leather console insert
Upgraded exhaust
Crossbar and/or X-Brace... A must if you want to track your car
New Head unit, upgraded speakers, AMP, and a Sub with enclosure

Milage now ~24k ...

Front stock tires show significant wear in the inner treads (original alignment - guess Honda believes in a little toe-in?). Replaced the rears (with stock) around 15k and they are still holding up, maybe for another 3-6k miles.

Now, if I could only convince the wife for some new wheels to go with the tires ...

We'll see

Yes, I would love to learn how to work on my own car. Especially the fluid changes. My car only has 8000 miles on it. All the mods sound great, but for now I will keep it stock. I will probably need new tires before too long, and I know I will be looking to replace them with something other than the stock tires that are on there. The tires on there right now are Potenza S-02. I think the 03's ae better? Any comments on that? Thanks.
