Default paint damage on my S

So I'm driving down 44 last week with my girl and she see's a really big cardboard box up ahead being blown and hit by cars. I'm in the fast lane when I see it approaching the car next to me. I figured it would hit him and I would be ok. Instead, he runs over it and it spins up and over from under his car right onto my front bumper, hood, and windshield. WTF!!GPIUG!PUIGP{@I*Y _(*^_+

When we got to our destination it looked fine, but it was a cloudy day. This morning, I looked at it in the sunlight and the whole front of the hood and some of the bumper are raped. The real bad marks are right where it first made impact, then it just looks like streight swirl marks all the way up the hood. What a crock of shit. I'm steamed at the damge it caused, but it could have caused an accident.

I remember many years ago following my friend's NSX in my GSR up to Chicago. We were on 55 going up one of the few rises for a bridge at about 95mph when he suddenly swerved right. I hesitated for a moment then followed. What I saw next was unbeleivable. In about the span of 3 seconds we narrowly avoided coliding with a Geo hatchback that was spining like a top at speed with a very heavy set woman behind the wheel, completely out of control. As I passed I saw the look of terror on her face for s split second as she colided with the cement wall and guard rail on our right. My window was down and I remeber hearing the "pop" the Geo made as it smashed itno the wall at high impact. Then immidiately my friend darted back to the fast lane and I followed revealing a completely open tent gliding down the highway. About 30 yards up on the shoulder was a pickup with an empty trailer and two men running twords the accident. I dont know what happened to her opr if there was a passenger, but if she made it through, she had to have been taken by ambulance. I sped up to the side of my frinds car and we both looked at eachother knowing we had narrowly escaped disaster.

Sorry to hear about that Nick. Is it just swirls/scuffs? If so, I bet you I can get it out with a buffer + compound + swirl remover + wax.

Yeah, I think its just scuffs. The part where it first hit is the worst and looks more white than the rest. Any recomendations on compounds and swirl removers for doing this type of thing?

Sorry to hear about your car Nick, but that Geo story is in-tents ... intense - get it? ... sorry ...

Same sort of deal as happened to you happened to me about a year ago only with a load of wood that must have fallen off the back of a truck: my lane was clear until an SUV ran over the wood & sent it in front of & under my S causing 2 scuffed rims where the low profile tires couldn't absorb all the hit - to make matters worse I had less than 1000 miles on the clock at the time

Just talked to a guy at proper auto care, he said to buy the orange buffer pad and use the Menzerna polish II and it should get most of it. Keith - PM sent

SlipAngle79 - that SUX! Sort of sounds like 8BALL's styrofoam incident. I spent extra time on the front end with the Menzerna polish at the last detail day and was pleased to see a few minor road rash spots disappear.

in-tents!
