*Edit. After researching the internet for 10 minutes i've found out that duralast gold top is cheaper and better then the optima yellow.

Duralast better generally, or better if you have a sound system? Quick search returned a bunch of threads saying the Gold was better, but mostly if you're looking for extra capacity / reserve due to amps, etc...

Have read that the Optima can be unreliable, but also read that others swear by them. (seem pricey tho')

Thanks for the input - will try Honda first for a price comparison against AutoZone, Advance, etc, and discuss how long the battery should last + see if any warranty is left on mine...

I have replaced with the Optima Yellow Top twice now. The main reason I spend the extra money on that one is because I put so few miles on the car, and the Optima batteries are known to hold a charge for a lot longer. I need that long-period of time charge. There are times in the winter where I won't fire up the car for a month. It's a necessary evil for me.

2 yellow tops is a lot of $$$s. Maybe better to spend the extra money on a trickle charger, whatever battery you put in the car... I've left my S for a few months at a time throughout my ownership - the original Honda battery only failed after 5 1/2 yrs, and this one is higher capacity with a better warranty.

That sounds more like a bad alternator than a bad battery. Do your dash lights flicker at idle?
