Sometimes searching the forums ends in disaster, when Im looking for a specific answer I end up getting 5,000 different answers so i figured I would ask all of you. Its time for the first oil change on my S, Autozone told me 5w-40 is recommended, I called Honda and they say 5w-20.... In searching the forums I see a wide array of different answers... what oil weight does everyone use here?

 

10W30... why deviate from what the manufacturer recommends?

well thats why I was confused... when I called honda they told me 5w20 unless I talked to a retard.

 

Never used anything but 10w30

I just changed my engine oil, transmission oil and rear differential oil. Engine oil was Mobile1 10w-30. I put Honda manual transmission fluid in the tranny and Mobile1 75w-90 LS fluid in the rear differential.

 

The Honda dealer said 5-20 because every other vehicle since 2001 uses 5-20. ...uneducated employee needs to be set straight! Get 'em!

 

The S is just not any other vehicle

 

I use 10w-30 Mobile 1 motor oil, GM Syncromesh for the trans and Mobile 1 75w-90 for the differential
