Default tires

Alright... it's time to completely replace my rear tires. My front still have a reasonable amount of tread left. I heard that it is not good to mix match different namebrand tires even if it is OEM specs. Is that true? What are some good tires for all season for my rears? Is getting the rears only good or a bad thing? Any info would be helpful!

have u checkd out tirerack.com? most of their tires have reviews from customers and also graphs/charts of how well diff. tires perform in weather conditions. But if your a broke college student like me and need a quick fix you to get you thru the winter, you might get lucky and find all 4 tires w/ the the right tire sizes on craigslist.

Yeah I do need a quick fix. I still have a good amount of tread life in the front and I just need the rears replaced.

^There ya go.

And mixing different brands F to R is not a big deal if they are just gonna be for the winter, however for warmer temperatures and spirited driving I would not recomend it...you will get some strange behavior during lane changes at high speed and corner entry.

I am running Su2uka's set of AP1's that I bought off of him whic are Dunlop fronts and brand new Sumitomo HTRZ rears, they did very well this morning and hoping they get me through the rest of the season.

tudernos, you will get lots of recomendations for this post. They will all be right (for the poster at least). Hopefully yo ucan choose based in your driving needs. therwise, make your choice based on your budget. If you can get a set of winter wheels & tires - that's best. Not many of us can afford that. Otherwise, try to find a compromise with a 'better-weather' tire (see above posts).
