Haha just kidding. I'm rocking the duct tape for now and I'll try the method linked by ryanfeldman... seems cheap and fairly straight forward.

I've got all of the supplies needed to fix. Want me to bring to detail day?

That would be awesome, but it turns out I have a field exercise that I CANNOT get out of. I misread the calendar initially thinking they wouldn't have the exercise extend into the weekend but no such luck

Thanks for the offer though!

ro0tbeer- It's such a small tear that i really can't justify replacing the entire top. If I was going to go top replacement route, I'd be getting a hard top. Thanks though!

We'll do it next time if it's not yet fix - or - feel free to swing by one day/eve, and we can fix it at my house.

Duct tape on an 07?? Forget that go with the mighty putty. Seriously I would try to mend it from the inside to hold it together and only put a thin binder on the outer seam. I bet someone makes a heat bonded tape that could be activated by an iron. You would want to put a towel between the iron and the vinyl top.

Just my $.02

You know what.. That's actually a great idea which will probably work. Use a colored sharpie to color it the needed top color ater it dries. Might work better than the vinyl mend I offered up earlier.

Seriously though I'm sure we can fix this up with the products I have on hand for Vinyl repair... I hope you know I was only kidding about the duct tape even though in our group have used that or their temporary repair.

yeah duct tape actually did work for me for a while! Probably 3-6 months when my tears were really bad before I got my new top. I used duct tape on the inside of the top and I used black cloth tape on the outside and it was okay for a while. Eventually I got a new top - we put it on ourselves - it was an "expletive" but I was only out a couple hundred dollars instead of over a thousand if I had a dealer or shop do it.

I used the black gasket maker. It has a littel bit of give, waterproof and matchs the black top pretty nice a layer on the inside and outside has held up very nice.
