I think that's from Best Buy...
Best Buy's own website quotes:
AM/FM tuner with 18 presets (12 AM, 6 FM); 18 satellite radio presets

Pocket change, if you haven't done so already try pressing the Band button. That should cycle you through am/fm.

well you have to buy the am/fm tuner seperate? or so i heard from best buy? maybe that was just a way to get some extra money...

Thanks again for tracking me down last week. I'll have to stop by The Hut for a brew sometime.

The Alpine iDA-X001 is the same head unit I have. I think the confusion is in regards to HD radio tuner that is separate. Regular am/fm is ready to go. I know what you mean about the CD player, it was a surprise to me too I almost jumped the gun and bought a changer last week but since I started using my jump drive and ipod I haven't missed the CD one bit. Its actually quite liberating to go CD free.

Also, the paper quick reference guide is less than helpful. There should be a complete manual on disk that is much better to use. There are a couple audio adjustments you must make in setup mode that will make the sound 100% better. I was unimpressed for about a week until I read the manual (on cd) this weekend and made the changes. Now my stock speakers rock and the sub finally gives a proper deep back massage. I hope you like it as much as I do. Feel free to stop by anytime if you have any questions about this thing, you know where I live.

ahh i need to install the unit, i think tonight will be good. i will def check out the am/fm for sure. maybe my friend got mixed up and thought meant for sirius. hmm... but ya thanks guys! i will def do the cd brad, i will probably be over sometime soon to work all the bugs and ?'s i have.

be careful with those hole saw bits, they like to EAT things. if you're not careful they can get out of line and cut ovals. also, don't get one with large teeth on them, the cut won't be clean on your door. something with fine teeth will def work better.
