Default Boxter Mountain Drive

A friend of mine in the local Boxter club sent the info below to me this morning. I am not sure if I can make it, I am free on Sunday morning, but I am getting new rear tires put on today. If I remember correctly, when my car (and tires) were new, it took a couple of hundred miles for the tires to get sticky.

Anyway, I checked with the boxter folks and we are welcome to join the drive. And I will post the details of the drive when they are available.

We will meet this Sunday at 8 am at Toosies and plan

I don't know why they are going up this early, there really isn't a need to this time of year.

Bob,

Have you ever started a thread with out the words "mountain drive" in the title

Have fun, I have to agree with S2K Dude, that's real early and way too cold for top down driving.

...Of course, maybe a coating of morning ice will protect me from all those rocks you hurl at my front end with your new tires.

If you add the occasional "karting" to "mountain drive" threads - that would cover it.

Did you get your autosharp pen yet. It works great.

I thought they were Boxsters?

Sounds like a good time!

Bobg,

Would love to go but...

too early...

too cold...

and the real reason...

just picked up the car after having TSB 54 done. I need to take it easy on the new clutch for at least a few hundred miles. It is really amazing the difference in the sound and feel of the new clutch. I hope that once it is "broken in" it will sound and feel the same.

Have fun on those twisties.

Drive was Awesome -- cool start but by 10 the tops were down -- as for the not needing to go that early this time of year -- the Streets WERE packed after 11. Bikes, Super bikes and Pick up trucks all over teh place -- the early runs were Awesom and Traffic free!
