Default drove an elise

wow I went to try out a cheap elise locally and I hated it! It feels ok to sit in once you are in it but then you start the engine up and it sounds like a rubbish 4 banger from a grocery getter! I shifted into gear and realised it has a horrible gear box...

Tried to turn the wheels and it felt like the power steering was broken totally... it has no lock so it can't turn tight either! Once its moving the steering lightens up which is nice but kind of alarming but it will turn once its on the move. The rack is so much slower than the s2000 and the wheel is tiny.

When you put your foot down around 4000rpm it starts to haul ass.. I glanced at the tach it was at about 6k then I was in the limiter? I thought they revved to 8 grand? The Toyota engine is a POS they need to put a honda K20 or something in it

I didn't drive it very far and I'm sure it'd be good on a track but I don't think I could autocross one with that steering and I certainly wouldn't daily drive it with the steering.I'm dissapointed realy I thought I would love this car and its british too!

yea I think so.. no sign of spraying but it looked ragged for 25,000 miles... some of the panels were not attached properly.
The battery was not secured in the trunk - I saw one at autocross where the battery was lose and it punched a hole in the rear panel!

I think this was a bad ones but I think they are all like that apparently they have no power steering!

I think it'd be good on a track but I just couldn't live with it on a daily basis

If I get to the point where I am traillering a car to an event it might make sense

pretty sure it wasn't the one from eisenhower

Yeah, you tried a sh*tty car. And sorry, but operator error pwnt your test drive too.

#1 There is no power steering to "break" in the car. Get to someplace twisty at speed and get back to us.

#2 Did you make sure you let the car warm up before getting on the second cam? (186/187F)? Doesn't sound like it since the "cold-engine" rev limiter pwnt you.
