Default Group Dyno Tests

I really want to dyno my car to see what it actually puts out in respect to HP. Is anyone else interested and does anyone know of a dynojet in Atlanta? Maybe we can get a group together. I want to see Tim's on the dyno!

Hey Enzyme, haven't seen you post in a while. Good to see your still around. Checked out the Atlanta website lately?

I know there are a few people who wanted to dyno their cars. It would even be good to dyno our stock S2000's to be sure that the car is delivering the hp it should.

Maybe we can tag along with a Mustang club, they are always doing dyno days. The cheapest price that I have seen so far is around $50 but don't know if that's for 3 runs or what it includes.

Also, we may want to think about waiting until the weather is cooloer, the S2K is very temperature sensitive.

My son, Jeremy, deals with a shop in Marietta. The name of the shop is Engineered Performance. They are having an open house on August 11th where the cost will be $50/hr. Jeremy says normally it is $65 for three runs. He will check with them to see if a "group buy" would be possible. Maybe a club day or something. I will post what he finds out. If there is enough interest he is sure we can get a better price.

It is a dynojet system.

John,
I would definitely be up for a dyno day. Please let us know when you can secure a date.

Cheers,

OK Here's the scoop...

We can get the whole day (9:00am till whenever) for $500. For this to be economical we will need at least (11) cars involved. ($50 for single dyno x 10 = $500...$500 for day / 11 = $45.45) Any additional services are extra (technician tuning time, use of lift, etc). This is the only dynojet in the southeast with computer hookup capability so it can monitor, and print out, all of the cars computer monitored data.

Dave,
You may want to email this info to all of the Atlanta members, and any other S2000 owners you know of in the southeast. Maybe some owners from the surrounding area will see this posting and respond. The more that get involved, the cheaper it will be per person...duh.

I would suggest getting a list of people, collecting the money, determine a schedule, and have everyone show up at a predetermined time. My project management anal-retentiveness is showing...

JB, I can send out an email to people. Maybe we can get some of those guys from the NSX or Boxster club to join us.

We should shoot for something in September maybe as August seems pretty booked up for me. The weather will be cooler then.

My suggestion would be keep it within the club. If we have too many people we will not get enough time on the Dyno. It was $50 for one hour. There might be 11-15 cars there divided by 8 hours in a work day. Unless they stay open for as long as we are there

Enzyme,

They will stay late. I am not sure how late. I don't know how long it takes to get the car on the dyno, run the test, get the results, and get the car off the machine. I can't imagine the whole process taking more than 30 mintues. If we are there from 9:00am until say 7:00pm that's 10 hours or 20 runs. If we have between 10 to 20 cars, some can run twice or maybe three times. Of course all of this is based on a 30 minute cycle time. I will see if I can find out how long the process takes.

Enzyme,
I have been to a Dynoday in HOU for the Miata club (yes, I know, it's the Miata club...) Anyway, it took approx. 30min. for each car - that included getting on the dyno, hooking up, doing 2 runs, and backing out again.

We should have plenty of time to do 10-15 cars, possibly more.

BTW, I would prefer to do this in Sept. as Aug. is already pretty booked.

Cheers,
