Have you tried the MAP whack? My car did the exact smae thing. It seems our ECU are sometimes very finicky. Have you checked for vacuum leaks around the intake plenum? I've heard good and bad about sea foam. Keep us posted on how it goes.

i definitely feel like the seafoam aggravated or loosened something. i will try the map whack tomorrow. hopefully, i won't have to tow my car. thanks for the suggestions.

thanks for the offer dan.

andrew came this morning and we cleaned the IAC, surging is much better. hopefully the rest of the seafoam that burns off, as well as the new intake tube, will set me right

You should try some Seafoam in your crankcase sometime. If there was that much buildup in your fuel system, for whatever reason, chances are there's buildup in other places. Seafoam works wonders
