HID Low beams
Hey,
i was driving around yesterday and stopped to rent a dvd at blockbuster and saw another S2000 MY04 (black). We chatted a little bit about the car the stuff, he told me that the when you first get your S2000, the HID beams are pointed lower than they should. That i should take it back to the dealer and have it re-adjusted higher than what it is now.
Please let me know if any of you experienced this before. The light is bright, but it distance is somehow limited being pointed down.
Thanks
Wilson

The factory setting should be correct, I have not seen or heard of anyone saying the factory setting was wrong.
You should see the driver side pointed down slightly which means there will be a step that looks like this:

I agree with S2kDude. The lights are blinding and you don't want to get them any higher than they are from the factory. There are enough people out there that think we're flashing them just when we go over bumps. Raising the level will annoy everyone even more.
BTW, if you're wondering about why there's a cut for the left side of the beam pattern to be lower, it's suppose to be that way as well so as not to blind oncoming traffic.

Guys,
I had it adjusted last week(higher)... Not happy... Im returning it back to Honda this weekend to Restore factory setting. They set it the same level almost of the high beam... HOLY CRAP! its really blinding now!
So this needs to be restored to the original setting. I just thought since that all the light is focused to the so low and limited distance, that it needed some slight adjustment. Apparently they adjusted it too much...
I guess back to factory settings... Sorry for buggin y`all

None of the lights really need to be adjusted. Even if you replace the whole headlamp assembly they come at the intended OEM setting. The main thing about HID's is that they are bright at short distances and don't travel far. This is normal with any vehicle w/ hid's not just S2K's.
Just my $0.02.

You did the right thing by coming here before you took a wrench to it, mis-information on this car abounds. Poke around this site a bit and you will find everything you ever wanted to know about this car.
For flat terrain the setup is great but when you get into the hilly-twisties, not so good. I just end up flipping to the brights a lot, which isn't hard with the stalk at my fingertips. As a footnote, you can adjust the HIDs for weekend trips by putting about 80 pounds of luggage in the trunk.
