s2000 machine shop
Hey guys. I'm from the Alabama forums. I have some questions that you all may have some answers to. I'm in the process of restoring my s2000. Full frame off restoration, changing the color from silverstone to Laguna blue. I've also pulled the motor and have taken it apart.
I've had my engine at two different machine shops in huntsville. The first shop had it for 3 and a half months, never touched it, and fed me lie after lie. The second shop has had it for a week, and just called and told me that he is not equipped to do the machine work.
I'm tired of playing games with people. Do any of you guys know of any shops that specialize in building the F20C? I'm willing to travel to Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham or Florida (or anywhere in between) under the right circumstances.
Hopefully you guys have some suggestions for me. Thanks fellas!

I was just telling someone else (local) to check out Chequered Flag Automotive (http://www.chequeredflagautomotive.com/) in Atlanta, GA (Roswell, just north of Atlanta, to be specific). Call and ask for Scott; I'm not entirely sure that they normally do what you want, but he'll be honest and straight up with you about what they can or can't do. He'll also know who to go to if he can't do it. I trust these guys completely.
If you end up liking them, tell them Sam sent you.

Hey man, Contact Grimes Machine shop. They are a great resource for the F20 motor. I've personally seen and driven a really nice S2000 Motor they built. Ran like a champ!
Their phone number is (770) 475-5272 They stay quite busy, but if you can get them to squeeze you in they'll do a top notch job on your motor build...
Not a s2k but Here's a build they just did for SEMA... Pretty insane if you ask me... http://ls1tech.com/articles/sema-ins...7-v8s-8-track/
