i just moved my car round the corner, left it for 15mins came back and there was a crack in the windshield

it starts in the left bottom and snakes into the middle about 12 inches

I've no idea what caused it?

I'm wondering how much it costs to get it fixed, has anyone had theirs replaced?

 

Chelsea has had hers replaced.. I don't think it costs too much. does it look like something hit it?

 

most insurance places will give you two windshield claims for free per year.... you might want to ask them about it...

 

Stress break? Was it on level ground?

 

I have a few chips but theres nothing near the crack and nothing around the area I could figure would have caused it

It might have been parked on slightly unlevel ground it was facing into the sun it was quite hot it was only parked there 45mins maybe

Maybe the chips + sun made it crack? Normally if you get a crack in the winter, it'll spread in the summer.

 

I think I went to Diamond in Pooler Be sure to ask for PPG glass.... it costs the same and they will gladly replace with cheaper if you don't ask.

mine cracked at cmp, i just had it put in it was $200 safelite did mine
