Therein lies the rub, as they say. You could just find one on the Internets but you don't know if they are any good. You could also go to your optometrist and ask them but they will want to see you first so there is more money into the process. Granted, it is your eyes and kind of important but still... At the very least, it is frustrating.

Optometrist vs. Ophthalmologist

Optometrist is what you will find at your typical eyeglass place. They are good for eye exams and minor health issues. Ophthalmologist is someone who did a TON more school and is an medical doctor specializing in eye health. They treat the nasty stuff like glaucoma and macular degeneration.

An Optometrist will probably be able to say, "Yup. You got the glaucomas." but they won't be able to treat it. They would refer you on to an Ophthalmologist.

Optometrist
Ophthalmologist


The bottom being for everything notably diseases of the eye. This an Ophthalmologist kind of thing.

Most eye glasses joints are going to be 1 or 2. Rarely #3.

An optician is something else entirely. They are trained in making glasses and that is pretty much it.
