James - Hill assist randomly started working again on the STi.

I'm thinking something back there got clogged up with ice and ish.

Isn't hill assist for people who like to drive automatics, but got a manual by accident?

I'm gonna defend the Subie guys on this one... The clutch on those things is just weird and the damn things roll like mad on any kind of hill. At least that is the way it is on Bobbie's.

IMHO, it is a necessity for that car.

I just don't like things breaking and the resulting idiot light on the dash. I can drive manual kthx.

I did just fine without it. It's only disconcerting for ish to break at 21,000 miles. But, it looks like it was only malfunctioning and as I said likely due to ice back there.

possible i guess,

with so few miles on yours i couldn't imagine that it was broken.

I don't drive Bobbie's car enough to be truly proficient with it so I find myself using it a lot. I never felt the need for it in my car, though.
